Affiche 2018

2018 Edition

Affiche 2018

From October 5 to 14, 2018 (8th edition)

Jazz & Garonne will open its doors from October 5th to 14th for its eighth edition. This new “vintage” will bring together a musical landscape around jazz and its sister genres, welcoming groups, musicians, and original composers.

The historical foundations of this music express and celebrate above all freedom, diversity, and the richness of an indispensable cultural and social mix. As daily actors of peaceful cultural resistance, the commitment of the artists on stage carries this music to all audiences, symbolizing a constant struggle against adversity, exclusion, and racism.

Music, artists, an association, volunteers, partners, a shared energy to support this project built on values of sharing, listening, and conviviality.

Jazz & Garonne #8 features eleven concerts, 41 artists, 4 nationalities, a conference on the fabulous odyssey of black popular music (FROM SLAVERY TO HIP-HOP), educational actions and concerts, Metis’Salsa, an exhibition at the Marzelles Museum, a JazzArt performance by Éric Séva/Bénédicte Gérin at the museum, a jazz snack for the little ones, “Mon Œil” by La Compagnie L’aurore.

In a world that is agitated and rushed, all artistic expressions are invitations to peace. Allow yourself the curiosity to come share this edition with us.

See you soon,

Éric SÉVA and the entire festival team.
