2016 Edition

Once again this year, we will celebrate music that honors freedom, emotion, expression, and fusion, with a blend of unusual cultural influences. We are giving a large focus to youth by offering educational concerts for elementary and middle school students, as well as a jazz snack for the little ones. Awareness, awakening, and transmission remain key drivers of development that we hope will open the way to the future. Driven by a passionate association and committed volunteers, Jazz & Garonne maintains its guiding principles of conviviality and hospitality to present this autumn gathering. It is a major event in the cultural season of Marmande, Val-de-Garonne, and the wider region.

2015 marked a turning point. For artists, organizers, and the public, culture symbolizes more than ever openness, tolerance, and peace. It nourishes, gives meaning, and offers hope in a world where societies need to strengthen their bonds. Discover, listen, communicate, share, and transmit—2016 will be the sixth edition of the Jazz & Garonne festival, which will welcome artists from all backgrounds to share different cultures and continue reinventing music with total freedom.

With the association Les Z’arts de Garonne, I invite you to encourage live performance in all its forms, by your presence and initiatives, to celebrate the richness of cultural diversity. Thanks to our partners, we are very happy to present these concerts and educational actions.
