From October 2 to 11, 2015 (5th edition)
Jazz & Garonne celebrates its fifth edition. A young and thriving festival, as evidenced by the number of artists invited and events organized: 39 artists for 6 concerts, 1 cine-concert, 1 interactive exhibition, 2 musical strolls, 1 show for young children, and 2 school performances across 7 different venues.
This year again, we highlight music that celebrates freedom, emotion, expression, and fusion, with a blend of unusual cultural influences (France, Venezuela, Argentina, Belgium, Spain, Italy…).
We continue to give youth the attention it deserves, with educational concerts for elementary and middle school students, a jazz snack for the little ones, for whom awareness, awakening, and transmission remain key to development and are widely open to the future.
Traveling the world, playing, meeting, and sharing are experiences that allow me, as an artist, to create but also to offer you a creative, innovative, and excellent artistic program.
Driven by a passionate association (Les Z’arts de Garonne) and committed volunteers, Jazz & Garonne maintains its guiding principle of conviviality and hospitality to offer you this unmissable event, a major part of the cultural season in Marmande, Val-de-Garonne, and more broadly in the region.
André Malraux wrote: “Art is the shortest path from man to man.” Far from the virtual worlds, live performance is a vital and essential medium that facilitates mutual enrichment during encounters between artists and spectators, making music and art more alive than ever, awakening us, marveling us, and taking us on a journey.
Come join us with a curious spirit—these are your music… jazz and world music.
